A new series from Marvel Studios will see Jon Bernthal reprise his fan-favorite role as the Punisher. The actor made his debut as the former U.S. marine-turned-vigilante in the 2016 Daredevil show from Netflix, starring in The Punisher as its titular character the following year until 2019.
Marvel is now working on a new show for Disney+ entitled Daredevil: Born Again, according to The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources familiar with the matter. Born Again will reportedly star Bernthal alongside Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Per the publication’s sources, the new series began filming in New York this month, with 18 episodes underway for an anticipated release date of sometime in spring 2024.
Matt Corman and Chris Ord are serving as Born Again’s writers and executive producers. Marvel has yet to officially confirm the news firsthand.
In other entertainment news, Patty Jenkins and Kevin Feige’s Star Wars films have been shelved at Lucasfilm.
