Katie Price plays with new puppy Tank despite petition against her

Two months after the death of her dog Blade, Katie Price has adopted a new puppy and posed happily amid calls for her to be banned from owning pets.

The 45-year-old played with new puppy Tank in Horsham, Sussex, which appears to be another German Shepherd just like her previous pet.

Blade was sadly hit by a car in June, devastating Katie, but the death brought attention to the petition against the former glamour model.

This was the seventh pet in Katie’s care to die in unexpected circumstances, with 35,000 people signing the plea to ‘Ban Katie Price from buying any more animals.’

Katie is a self-proclaimed animal lover and was understood to be ‘heartbroken’ when her ‘best friend’ and ‘protector’, Blade, died.

Tiny Tank appears playful as Katie fussed the new pup on his first venture outside after she received backlash for adopting him.

‘She was heartbroken after Blade’s death and is determined to keep Tank safe. In time, it could grow into her new protection dog and fill the void left by Blade,’ a source told The Sun previously.

‘Katie has always lived by her own rules and she’s adamant she’ll prove her critics wrong and give Tank a loving home.’

The mum-of-five has had a bad run-in of pets dying in her care, with Blade being the fifth dog the family has lost as well as a horse and a chameleon.

In 2018, Katie’s dog Queenie, who was a 38th birthday present from ex Kieran Hayler, lost her life after being run over by a pizza delivery van.

The petition was started in 2020 when her daughter’s puppy Rolo reportedly suffocated to death after being crushed in an electric armchair, having been left unsupervised.

Just seven months before Blade, who was purchased as a protection dog, Katie’s Pomeranian Sharon was also reportedly killed on the same road.

Another Alsatian, Sparkle, died after being hit by a car after venturing out of her home onto a busy road in 2020 – Rolo was bought to cheer up Princess, 16, after this loss.

The unnamed horse also escaped from her property and was hit by a car, while Marvin the chameleon is thought to have died of a broken heart when Junior, 18, moved in with her ex-husband, Peter Andre.

Katie also had to give away another Alsatian, Bear, for attacking other animals in 2019.

The online petition claims there is a ‘lack of care’ from Katie and the family, along with other animal cruelty allegations.

‘We need to stop this now no more animals need to die,’ it concluded.

Further reports claimed the RSPCA recently visited the home of the glamorous 45-year old where they appeared to find no issue with the environment her animals were living in.

In 2020, a spokesperson for Katie said she is ‘aware’ of the petition but refutes its claims.

They said: ‘Katie is aware of this petition. It comes as a devastating blow as it is wholly biased, based on hearsay and not actual fact.

‘Katie loves her animals, to say otherwise is incorrect, unjust and unkind, it couldn’t be further from the truth.’
