After a long, drawn-out divorce, Kelly Clarkson has officially put her marriage to Brandon Blackstock behind her. That means she can finally carve out some time for herself, including putting her dating life back on the front burner.
And that’s exactly what the pop star is doing — “Kelly has entered the dating world,” according to an Us Weekly source. It can’t be easy to just randomly date someone, especially as a public figure. Sure, there are dating apps, like Raya, that cater to celebs, but it sounds like Clarkson is going the old-fashioned route: relying on her friend to play matchmaker. “She’s being set up with friends and is open to dating again,” added the insider.
With those dates being lined up through her close confidantes, it’s probably the only realistic way for her to prioritize her personal time. The 39-year-old star is B-U-S-Y. Besides having primary custody of their two children, daughter River Rose, 7, and son Remington Alexander, 5, she’s a judge on The Voice, she helms her own talk show, and she is co-hosting a new show with Snoop Dogg, American Song Contest. Clarkson has very little time to be swiping left and right, so it’s good to have her wingmen (and women) screening out possible dating candidates for her.
This will hopefully be an exciting new chapter for the “Breakaway” singer after Blackstock contested their divorce every step of the way (even with an iron-clad prenuptial agreement). With the darkest days behind her, Clarkson is ready to write a new song for herself — we hope it’s a romantic one.
