Kosuke Kawamura Fills BE@RBRICK With Shredded One-Dollar Bills

For one of the latest additions to its extensive series of collectibles, Medicom Toy taps graphic artist and UNIQLO UT creative director Kosuke Kawamura, Japanese imprint NEXUSVII. and art gallery S01 for a triple collaboration 400% BE@RBRICK.

Having worked together before on exhibitions and collaborative wares, the trio brings Kawamura’s recurring motif of a shredded one-dollar bill — found across a wide range of skateboards, caps, and graphic tees throughout the years — to life. What look to be perfectly sliced one-dollar bills that have been put through a paper shredder are tossed into a translucent BE@RBRICK figure. Ears, hands, and hips are finished in gloss black and Kawamura’s signature is printed on the back of the leg.

Priced at ¥22,000 JPY (approximately $173 USD), the KOSUKE KAWAMURA × NEXUSVII. × SO1 BE@RBRICK is sold via web lottery with the winner set to be announced on January 19.
