Disney will be releasing its live-action Mulan adaptation outside of Disney+ starting October 6.
According to reports, the 2020 film will hit video on demand services such as Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and FandangoNow in addition to Disney+. Interested viewers can pre-order the movie for $29.99 USD while Fandango and Vudu will offer a $3 USD rebate to those who place their pre-orders.
Mulan suffered several release delays before Disney opted to fully skip a theatrical premiere. It was made available on Disney+ as a $30 USD rental that will be kept in the user’s library for as long as they have an account. The film’s official numbers are still under wraps, however an independent analyst roughly calculated that about 1/3 of Disney+ customers in the United States watched the movie during its September 4 opening weekend.
