Newsreader 'learns her lesson' after suffering awkward wardrobe malfunction

A newsreader has reflected on the embarrassing moment she suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction, which had viewers hiding behind their giggles.

Canadian journalist Ainsley McPhail was covering a news segment on television network CTV two years ago, when she noticed the slip-up.

The camera appeared to pick up cone rings across her grey top, covering her chest and torso in some, ahem, interesting lines…

The illusion almost resembled Katy Perry’s California Gurls cone bra – we’re sure you get the picture.

However, looking back, Ainsley can clearly see the lighter side of the moment.

She took to Twitter: ‘Today marks 2 years at CTV.

I’ve learned a lot.

Never wear this shirt in the studio is lesson 1.

Fans were of course in hysterics at the throwback picture, with one writing: ‘I’m sure it got a lot of attention it really draws the eyes.’

Another said: ‘Thank you for the joy this brought me.’

Someone else wrote: ‘Ok this is funny and an epic way to do a celebratory tweet for your 2 year anniversary!’

Last year, Ainsley marked another career milestone, sharing a picture of the CTV Morning Live set.

‘I anchored a television show for the first time in my career,’ she wrote, before being showered in supportive and celebratory messages.

‘You can do hard things!’
