Fan-favorite cars don’t have to come in Lamborghini green, have scissor doors, or pack a V12 engine — sometimes, they can be lovable Italian pals, like the Fiat Panda 4×4. For automotive nuts, the Panda has a soft spot in many a heart, from its appearances in Top Gear á la James May to the fact it’s an Italian icon — and now, it has been subjected to a restomodification process courtesy of the renowned car designer, Niels van Roij Design.
Speaking on the project, Roij said:
“The Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso represents the unwavering commitment of Niels van Roij Design to push the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship. With its evocative design, opulent interior, and meticulous attention to detail, the Piccolo Lusso stands as a remarkable embodiment of automotive artistry. And it serves as a glimpse into our future too. The Piccolo Lusso heralds an exciting new chapter for Niels van Roij Design. Renowned for its groundbreaking coachbuilding projects, the Piccolo Lusso marks our studio’s debut in the world of restomod cars. This one-of-a-kind Panda showcases Niels van Roij Design‘s approach, foreshadowing an upcoming portfolio of reimagined classics that blend heritage with contemporary design.”
Working with Netherlands-based car mecca Kaeve Cars, Niels van Roij Design‘s Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso is a slice of Italiana, coming in “Azzurro Blu” to reflect the hues of the Italian coast. Likewise, the door panels, seats, dashboard, steering wheel, sun visors, and more have been retrimmed in “Mediterranean Leather,” oozing sophistication and ease.
A teak deck in the boot serves as a contrast to the car, bringing in boating influences for a final nod to the sea. Take a look at the Niels van Roij Design Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso above.
