Swatch Unveils ‘80s Retro Clear Collection With Four New Models

Swatch unveils its new Clear Collection, an entirely transparent body equipped with NFC chip integration that highlights the label’s irreverent approach to modern watchmaking.

The Clear Collection — including the Clearly Big Bold ($110 USD), Clearly Gent ($75 USD), Clearly New Gent ($85 USD), Clearly Skin ($120 USD) models — unveils a bio-sourced plastic case, bezel, and four-pronged stacked lugs, accented by internal hands awash in a primary color thematic. The silicone strap pairings feature a variety of glossy and frosted finishes, and the exposed inner mechanisms painted in gold seamlessly complement the metallic silver pusher and crown. The internal NFC chip can be used to make contactless payments, similar to modern-day debit and credit cards.

The Clearly Big Bold is the most distinctive model of the bunch and features a frosted matter 47mm case and 30 meters of waterproofing protection — a characteristic shared amongst all four models. Collectors of Swatch will notice the similarities of the 1985 clear Jellyfish body revamped in the Clearly Gent model, a crystalized aperture showcasing the red, blue, and yellow hands.

Lightweight and minimalist, Swatch revels in its ability to merge past trends into the present day. Playful, retro accents pay homage to Swatch’s ‘80s heyday, and the Clear Collection encapsulates the brand’s signature sartorial design and imaginative styling.
