The "American Horror Story: 1984" Title Sequence Is A Blood-Soaked '80s Fever Dream

With less than a week to go until the season premiere, Ryan Murphy just released the title sequence for American Horror Story: 1984, and it looks SO ? GOOD ?!

With shots of cassette tapes, Ronald Reagan, and — of course — exercise videos, the opening credits are basically like opening up a blood-soaked time capsule from the ’80s.

And as a graphic design nerd, let me just say — the credits themselves are *chef’s kiss* absolutely perfect.

In his Instagram post, Murphy also shared that the concept for the title sequence was inspired by an “original ‘fan’ cut…posted on Twitter.” In fact, Murphy liked it so much that he brought the fan, whose name is Corey Vega, on board to “[evolve] the concept into something major.”
