Covering one of Billie Eilish’s songs is no easy feat, but James Blake certainly lived up to the challenge and trapped me in my feels in the process. The English singer just released his own rendition of “When the Party’s Over” off Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? album, and it’s a true musical masterpiece. Playing a piano sent to him by Steinway & Sons for the purposes of the cover, Blake flawlessly hit every single high note from the emotional track. When he shared a video of his acoustic performance on Instagram, it even caught the attention of Eilish herself, who commented with pretty much the same reaction I had upon the first listen.
