Avril Lavigne proves she hasnt aged a day with noughties-era pink hair transformation

Is it 2002? Is it 2021? It’s kind of hard to tell with Avril Lavigne ’s latest beauty makeover. Almost two decades have passed since the singer first released her hit single Complicated, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her.

Ever since she popped up on TikTok with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk back in June, in a viral video to her hit Sk8er Boi, fans have been amazed by how little the punk-pop princess has changed over the years.

It’s no surprise, then, that her latest beauty transformation has sparked those conversations once again.

Posing next to fellow musicians like Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo and Lil Nas X at this year’s Variety Hitmakers awards, the 37 year old sported her signature lengthy blonde hair complete with hot pink dip dye, paired with an outfit that could be straight out of one of her music videos all those years ago.

Of course, this was something many of her 10.2 million Instagram followers were quick to excitedly point out.

“Looking straight out of the Best Damn Thing era,” one commented in reference to the star’s 2007 album, the cover of which also featured Avril with hot pink streaks through her blonde lengths.

Another added, “How do you still look the same from when I was that 14yo?”.

One fan even went as far as to say that Avril and Olivia, 18, look the same age despite their almost 20 year age gap.

Beauty looks aside, Avril’s fans also encouraged her to team up with many of the stars she posed alongside in the string of snaps.

“Never knew I needed to see this until now. Avril and Lana, the combo and collab I NEED”, one excitedly commented, as another added, “LES GOOOO PLS COLLAB”.

Meanwhile a third begged, “Collab with everyone you took pictures with ASAP PLSSSSSS”.

Well, we may not know if or when we’re getting new music from Avril, but we can certainly marvel at her beauty looks until then!
