Bag these top bargains for your baby and stock up on essentials for your big day

EXPECTING a baby? Becoming a parent is an exciting time, but during that final countdown, thoughts turn to the hospital bag.

Stocking up on those essentials need not cost a fortune. Influencer Mrs Hinch recently revealed how she prepped her bag with bargains from Amazon ahead of the birth of her second baby.

Here are some saves that would also make a great pressie for an expectant mum.

NOT GOWN AND OUT: Dressing gowns are comfy and easy to change in and out of, so perfect for hospital. Make like Mrs Hinch by nabbing a waffle dressing gown from Amazon. I found one for just £14.99, miles cheaper than a popular version at The White Company for £60.

MINI MARVELS: You’ll want toiletries, but won’t want to carry huge bottles. Use reusable mini bottles to decant your favourite lotions and potions. I like those sold at Wilko for 50p each, or three for two. For an extra slick finish, you could then label these up using a device such as Home Bargains’ Dymo Omega home label maker, £11.99, down from £12.99.

LAUNDRY SWAP: Clean, comfy clothes and underwear will be the order of the day when it comes to leaving the hospital. Make sure your baby bag is prepped with a bag for laundry. Mrs Hinch nabbed hers for just £2 from Flying Tiger, cheaper than options at Robert Dyas for £5.93. I also rate using cheap and cheerful mesh washing machine bags. Get a pack of three from eBay for around £3.59.

BAG A BARGAIN: You don’t need to spend a fortune on a decent sized bag to pop everything in. Mrs Hinch made do with a cheap option from eBay that looked far more expensive, but did the job. I’ve also seen some fab big weekend-style bags in the sales. Accessorize has a great zippable, sturdy option in navy for £16, down from £32, and Shein.com has a large minimalist tote bag for just £11.99 — and is currently offering £3 off your first order.
