Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively offered a rare glimpse into their relationship on Instagram last night, with a selfie from a dinner date in New York City. It’s sort of a big deal, because the pair usually reserves social media to troll each other, like with Ryan’s hilarious birthday post this year.
The date-night selfie was taken at New York City’s Tak Room in Hudson Yards, a new, expensive restaurant where a side of carrots or spinach costs $14. Earlier that day, Ryan did a press junket for his new film Free Guy (which also stars Stranger Things scene-stealer Joe Keery) at New York Comic Con at the Javits Center, so the restaurant was just a few blocks away.
This year, while expecting the couple’s third child, Blake has stayed out of the public eye for the most part, and hasn’t posted on social media at all since dropping the trailer for her new film, The Rhythm Section, and a throwback photo of her and Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester. She announced that she and Ryan were expecting baby #3 back in May, at the Detective Pikachu premiere.

On their date, Blake wore a carabiner clip necklace from jewelry brand Marla Aaron, which reposted the selfie with a sweet message. “Gorgeous @blakelively representing in a major magic way. Blake, we love you,” the brand wrote, to which the star responded, “right back at you.”
The selfie conveniently shows the couple from the shoulders up, so it’s unclear whether or not Blake and Ryan welcomed their third baby yet.
