Burger King shares 11 secret hacks – from free burgers to cheap family meals

With the cost of living crisis crippling millions, it's no doubt Brits will be looking for tricks to save their cash.

Now the next time you're eating at Burger King you could get yourself some huge savings.

The chain released a series of tips and tricks to help customers hack the system to make big savings on every visit.

From free Whoppers or feeding a family for £4.50 each to turning two burgers into three, there are many tips to try.

The chain spilled the beans on how to hack the YourBurgerKing loyalty scheme and app offers.

It comes as research revealed nearly nine in 10 (88%) Brits are feeling the impact of the rise in cost of living.

Meanwhile, 92% are actively looking for new ways to make their money stretch further.

So here are some tips and tricks to save money on your next Burger King visit…

A Whopper of an offer:

You can turn a side into a main course by spending £3 on your first click & collect order with Burger King.

That means you can get your hands on the famous flame-grilled Whopper totally free.

Bag a burger for £1.99:

You can do this twice a week by heading down to your local every Monday and Wednesday.

When you do, you'll get the Plant-Based Whopper, Vegan Royal or Whopper for just £1.99 on those days.

Feed the family for £4.50 each

Friday night in? On the Burger King app you can get your hands on two Whopper or Royal meals for £9.99 and two kids meals for £3.99 each.

So feeding a family-of-four could cost under £18 helping you save nearly £15.

Turn two burgers into three

Spend £15 – the equivalent of two gourmet burgers at BK – and get a free menu item.

All burger-lovers have to do is sign up to YourBurgerKing to start earning 10 points for every £1 spent.

Just 150 points gets you free chips, cheeseburger, hamburger or a regular drink.

So do the math – if you get 300 points – you'll earn a free Double Cheeseburger or portion of Nuggets.

Nugget of wisdom:

When you order 20 tasty Chicken or Vegan Nuggets via the BK app for just £3.99.

A cheesy bite (or 6):

Make the most of the fan favourite offer of a whopping six Chilli Cheese bites for just £1.99 when placing your order through the Burger King app – a saving of nearly 15p per delicious bite.

Get your 6th visit free:

Thanks to YourBurgerKing, customers can get their 6th visit free. Using 200 free points upon registering and based on the average Burger King customer spending, customers could earn enough points for a free meal in less than five visits.

Magic your meal out of nothing:

If you're looking for a quick win (and bite), simply sign up to YourBurgerKing to claim an instant freebie.

Once signed up, you'll be automatically awarded 200 points – which is enough to claim a free cheeseburger, hamburger or drink without needing to spend a penny.

Free burgers for students:

Uni students up and down the country can get their hands on a free burger every day of the week if they show their Student Beans ID at the till.

Simply spend £4 and flash the ID to get a tasty flame-grilled Whopper completely free of charge.

Whopper-ise your BK:

Simply order from the Melts range to get a burger, side, fries and drink for just £4.99 when placing your order in-store, via drive-thru or click & collect.

These hacks are just the first in a series – with more promised over the coming months.

Burger King is also challenging burger lovers to go one step further and hack the system themselves – offering 1,500 points to a lucky fan who can share their very own Whoppernomics tip on social media.

To get in on a bite of the action, all fans need to do is download the Burger King app and sign up to the YourBurgerKing loyalty scheme to access daily deals and points all year round.

Burger King UK launched its in-app loyalty scheme earlier this summer, with personalised rewards and offers up for grabs on every purchase.
