Camila Morrone Opened Up About Dealing with Negative Attention

Camila Morrone was quickly thrown into tabloid-level fame when she was first linked with Leonardo DiCaprio — and as an actress trying to make a name for herself, Morrone has opened up about the downside of "more exposure."

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, she discussed how she handles the negative attention that can come with fame.

"More exposure leads to more judgment and negativity," she said. "It’s a little bit of a bummer because you’re really trying to do good work and be nice and be a good person, and in the meantime…people wish negative things upon you."

Morrone also spoke to InStyle about dealing with negativity on social media: "Whether you have 100 followers or you have 10 million, it's like there's always going to be people that are going to be negative on the internet because it's such an easy way to be negative and to project your anger out. I definitely try to protect myself and I'll take breaks and not use my Instagram as much or not post for a while, and I'd be lying if I say it doesn't eventually get to you. For me, the best way to do it is just to not read the negative comments because eventually I think they end up hurting you."

Morrone and DiCaprio have been linked since early 2018, and the actress has previously spoken out about the backlash against their 23-year age difference, sharing that while she understood the public interest in their relationship, "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."
