An evangelical christian blogger has controversially claimed women in police uniform are ‘unattractive to men’ and should ‘stick to being feminine’.
Mother-of-four – and grandmother-of-nine – Lori Alexander, 60, from San Diego in California, who goes by the name The Transformed Wife on Twitter, commented: ‘I’m not sure how men could be attracted to women dressed as men like female police officers and females in the military.’
‘These are men’s jobs. If they weren’t, then women could dress like women in these jobs but they can’t. Stick to being feminine, women.’
And many were quick to hit back at the suggestion – including PC Rosie Finnis who works for Essex Police, who replied saying the remark was ‘one of the most offensive things she’s ever read,’ before proudly posting a photo of herself posing in her uniform.

Lori Alexander has a streak of stirring outrage for her incendiary comments on social views and faith, and her controversial post this time around quickly garnered up over 5, 500 comments.
‘This is one of the most offensive things I’ve ever read,’ commented Rosie. ‘I am confident when I say, there’s not a female police officer that joined the job because the uniform is flattering.
‘To minimize the work we do down to a uniform is appalling. I’m not here for men to find attractive.’
Over 1,000 liked PC Finnis’ tweet, with hundreds commenting in support of her response.
Taking to the comments section, many slammed Lori for her outdated views. ‘Ring ring… Hello? This is 2020 calling. The 1950s would like their tweet back please,’ wrote one (pictured)

A third added: ‘Wow are you kidding me…who are you to judge anyone based on their choices. Shame shame shame on you,’ while a fourth commented: ‘Who told you these are men’s jobs ? Also, can you define ‘feminine’ ?’
And while another branded it the ‘most ignorant statement’ they have ever read, other women in the police force were keen to express their views.
‘I’m in shock at this tweet and as a military lady of 20 years I can’t believe this view point is still alive today,’ one penned. ‘As we celebrate nearly 30s of equality in the Royal Navy I’m proud to wear my uniform and doing my job is my priority whether I’m “attractive” or not.’
Another wrote: ‘I spent 21 years in the military because I wanted to follow in the footsteps many others in my family and trust me, the men did and DO find women in uniform attractive. I find her tweet highly insulting to those women who serve and protect her right to say such things.’
