Christmas trees made of dried pampas grass are the next big interiors trend

In case you hadn’t heard, decorating your home with pampas grass is the big thing right now.

Take a look on Instagram and you’ll see those dried leaves and reeds all over the place – artfully arranged in vases, turned into wreaths, and propped on mantlepieces.

It was only a matter of time before pampas crept into Christmas, too.

Not satisfied with just hanging pampas arches above their doors, interiors influencers are now crafting entire Christmas trees out of pampas.

The end result is pretty cool, swapping the usual green for a more minimalist bleached beige tone.

Obviously a pampas tree needs some decoration, otherwise it just looks like a forgotten plant left to wither.

We’d recommend skipping the usual tinsel, however, and sticking to that pared back theme with neutral-toned baubles and subtle touches of glitter and light.

It’s also worth sticking some dried flowers and other natural elements, like holly and mistletoe, in there, to bring home the down-to-earth theme.

Pampas Christmas trees haven’t quite hit the IRL mainstream yet, mostly appearing in artful Instagram shots.

As such, there’s no supermarket or big store selling ready-made pampas trees for you to buy.

You could attempt to make your own, which could be a lot of faff. or you can do as many influencers have and commission a specially made tree from a small business.

For inspiration for your own, or just to marvel at other people’s lovely Christmas decor, take a look at some of the best pampas trees we’ve spotted below.
