- A couple was shocked to learn their holiday house used to be the site of orgies
- The man who rented the house was unaware of its colourful history beforehand
- It was bought by a gay couple in the 1970s and turned into a party and orgy site

A couple was shocked to find out the ‘carnal’ origins of a surprising fixture at their quaint French holiday house.
Antoine, from Paris, recently went on a Christmas vacation with his boyfriend and family and they rented a large villa in the French countryside – only to discover that the home was once a popular site for parties and orgies in the 1970s.
‘When we walked in, we noticed that most of the ceilings were mirror-like and that the house looked quite tacky,’ he shared in a Facebook post.

‘The new owner told us its story and it’s quite strange: a couple of gay Parisian men won the lottery in the 70s and built this house to organise big parties and orgies.’
He added, ‘It was apparently a very famous place back in that time.’
But the mirror ceilings were not the only features that gave Antoine’s family pause.
‘Besides the ugly ceiling, the house was very strange. Huge with little windows, tiles on the exterior walls, and weird roofs…’
Antoine shared several photos of the house, whose window-to-concrete ratio may seem off to even a novice architecture enjoyer.
The exterior of the house was also trimmed with white ceramic tiles one might find in bathrooms, the crevices filled with discoloured grout.
But the man assured his commenters that despite the rowdy history, his family enjoyed their time at the house and made wonderful memories.
‘So to add in some details just in case – I am gay myself and my boyfriend stayed with us,’ he wrote. ‘And although a very old and traditional one, my family is very open minded and has a great sense of humour, so we loved the origin story.’
‘We have great memories of this Christmas and we all made great puns and jokes about the story and the house during the stay.’

Hundreds of commenters were extremely amused by the house’s colourful history.
‘Think of all the great times that were had before you got there!’ one woman wrote. ‘Very, very fun.’
‘I can only guess how many adult movies were filmed there.’
‘Surely the little windows are so that nobody can see in during their orgies.’
