Eat Out to Help Out: How many times can you use discount?

Restaurant and pub bills will be cut in half when you eat out, thanks to the new Eat Out to Help Out scheme, introduced by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak on Wednesday. The aim is to boost the economy and the tourism and hospitality sectors in the UK. How many times can you use discount?

Brits who eat out at a restaurant or pub Monday to Wednesday in August will only pay 50 percent of the bill.

The Government will top up the bill by paying the other half, as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

Up to £10 per head will be covered, but it won’t cover any alcohol ordered with your food.

Alcohol is still to be taxed the full 20 percent.

This scheme was announced today by Mr Sunak, who called the scheme “unique”, and called on policymakers to be “creative”.

He said: “To get customers back into restaurants, cafes and pubs, and protect the 1.8 million people who work in them, I can announce today that, for the month of August, we will give everyone in the country an Eat Out to Help Out discount.”

This means if you have meal out for two worth £20, you will only need to pay £10.

However, since the Government is only covering £10 a head, a £25 meal for two will cost you £15.

Both children’s meals and adult’s meals will be covered.

This won’t apply to every single business that serves meals, because businesses need to sign up to the scheme.

It could include high street chains or independent businesses.

The idea is to boost business without cutting back on profit, giving diners money off but still allowing them to receive the full cost.

The scheme is only active throughout August on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

This is because these are the quietest days of the week will less business than Thursdays, Fridays, and the weekend.

Further details on how businesses can sign up will be announced on July 13, but it is known that they will need to register online before being able to offer the discount.

The restaurants also will need to be Food Standards Agency approved.

The Government won’t be issuing individual discount vouchers, due to the risk of fraud.

Instead, eateries will be able to claim the cash back and be refunded within five working days.

How many times can you use discount?

There is no limit on the number of times you can use the discount.

The scheme will run throughout the whole of August on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and you can benefit from the scheme during those days.

You can get half price meals on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August in restaurants signed up to the scheme.

You will not get the discount in restaurants that aren’t registered with the scheme.
