Sex symbol Raquel Welch dead at 82

Rachel Welch’s most iconic look is beloved by fans and fellow celebrities alike.

The actress and sex symbol died this week at the age of 82 after a brief battle with an undisclosed illness. The brunette bombshell skyrocketed to fame in the 1960s, thanks in part to the sexy deerskin bikini she wore for one of her most memorable roles in “One Million Years B.C.” — and in the decades since, plenty of other stars have re-created the iconic look.

After news broke of Welch’s death on Wednesday, Emily Ratajkowski re-shared a photo of her 2018 Halloween costume inspired by the furry matching set.

“I’m obsessed with reference images, and that image, that poster of her in what they called ‘mankind’s first bikini’ — I love that. It’s just fun and kind of quirky,” the Inamorata swimwear designer explained on the “Shoot This Now” podcast at the time.

Costume queen Heidi Klum also shared a pic of herself modeling a take on the two-piece on Wednesday night. The image was included in a sexy 2002 spread for GQ shot by Mark Seliger, for which Klum posed as famous figures from film and TV.

Even “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice was a fan of the late Welch, posting her own throwback photo from a 2016 photoshoot with Us Weekly.

“Growing up Raquel Welch was such a beautiful & iconic woman to me (and everyone else on the planet). Coming from humble beginnings, I never dreamed as a little girl that I would have the privilege & honor to re-create that amazing image from ‘One Million Years B.C.’ and be featured in a magazine doing it,” the Bravolebrity captioned her post on Instagram.

“Rest in Peace to a true icon, Ms. Raquel Welch.”

While the “Legally Blonde” star may have been best known for her Neanderthal-chic bikini, she was celebrated for her style both onscreen and off.
