Fashion hits and misses from the 2021 SAG Awards

The 2021 SAG Awards are virtual this year! Despite not having a red carpet to walk, some stars chose to sport some serious couture while others… wore sneakers. And when it came time to add jewels, she opted for David Yurman stunners. Keep reading to take a closer look and see the rest of the night’s virtual fashion…

Leslie Odom Jr. donned the coolest suit we’ve seen in a while selecting this multicolored Berluti design that had hues that flowed from greens to pinks and blues. The actor sported a matching green turtleneck underneath and chunky black boots to complete this killer fashion moment.

Oops! Ethan Hawke didn’t get the memo that stars were dressing up for the SAG Awards. The actor instead rocked a flannel, green pants and sneakers for his appearance on the virtual telecast.

Lily Collins sported this sweet pink minidress by Georges Hobeika for the SAG Awards. The short-sleeved frock featured beautiful embellishments throughout and paired perfectly with those pink peep toe pumps.

Though we loved the pretty fuchsia shade, we weren’t wild about Jurnee Smollett’s Zuhair Murad ballgown. The high-low hemline is where it really lost us, though the top half with the sweetheart neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves started out strong. Next up? A look at the stunning jewels she added to the mix…

Jurnee Smollett added some seriously stunning jewels from Bulgari to complement her Zuhair Murad gown. From the layered stunning necklaces to multiple eye-catching rings, her jewelry was the best of the night. Let’s get a better view of those rings…

Jurnee Smollett added four exquisite diamond rings from Bulgari to her SAG Awards look, which included beautiful floral shapes and gemstones that complemented the shade of her Zuhair Murad gown. Before we move on, we need to take a closer look at her shoes…

Those shoes! The best thing about Jurnee Smollett’s gown’s high-low hemline? The fact that it showed off these phenomenal Roger Vivier heels.

Radiant in red… and pink! Helen Mirren wowed in this beautiful red Badgley Mischka gown with a sweetheart neckline and three-quarter length pink sleeves. The star posed in front of an ideal background — red and pink flowers that complemented her dress perfectly!

Looking regal in Alexander McQueen? Cynthia Erivo, who rocked this beautiful champagne-hued sleeveless gown with a full skirt. And she added some sparkle with jewels from Forevermark, which we’ll get a closer look at next…

Cynthia Erivo layered Forevermark jewels, from earrings to six different rings, including their Radiant Cut Eternity Diamond Ring with over 13 total carat weight and their Five Diamond Flower Ring.

James Marsden is another star who didn’t get dressed up for the occasion. The hunky actor instead wore a denim shirt, jeans and white sneakers for a seriously underwhelming SAG Awards ensemble.

Jamie Chung looked ravishing in red Oscar de la Renta! We adored the star’s off-the-shoulder number, which featured ruffled sleeves, a plunging neckline and a midi-length skirt that showed off those killer strappy Stuart Weitzman red heels. Next up? A better look at her clutch that included a powerful message…

Jamie Chung added a powerful statement with her clutch. The Edie Parker bag read “Stop Asian Hate.”

Though we appreciated the fact that Emily Hampshire mixed things up for the SAG Awards, we weren’t crazy about her funky getup. The “Schitt’s Creek” actress wore a dress shirt, bow tie and dress pants sans jacket and completed her black and white look with Converse sneakers.

Eli Goree wowed in this Emporio Armani silver tuxedo with black lapels, which he styled with a black dress shirt, bow tie, trousers and dress shoes.

“Schitt’s Creek” star Sarah Levy kept things simple, yet elegant in Monique Lhuillier. The actress donned this strapless pale pink gown from the designer, and added drop earrings for a little bit of sparkle.

Aldis Hodge made a fashion statement during the virtual SAG Awards in this bold patterned Dolce&Gabbana three piece suit — sans undershirt! He added black dress shoes and, because actors were photographed from home, got to strike multiple poses in his designer duds…

Like this one! Aldis Hodge also posed for pictures without his jacket and showed off the unique way he styled his Dolce&Gabbana suit.

Another dapper gentleman rocking a printed suit? Daveed Diggs, who selected this printed Versace suit with gold designs including chain details and their Medusa logo.

Michael K. Williams got the printed suit memo as well! Though we liked the bold take on menswear, we weren’t wild about this gray suit with a subtle blue splattered print throughout. He added a corresponding blue dress shirt underneath sans tie and black dress shoes to finish off the look.

We absolutely adored Nicola Coughlan’s Miu Miu minidress! The “Bridgerton” star rocked this ruffled little number with puffy sleeves, a tiered ruffle skirt and an embellished collar with tights and cool embellished boots. And when it came time to add jewels, she selected earrings and rings from De Beers.

Florence Hunt went for an edgy look at the virtual SAG Awards — selecting this Chanel blouse and shorts combination with a pair of ankle boots. While she was probably one of the more comfortable stars that night, we weren’t wild about this look for the occasion.

“Ozark” star Skylar Gaertner continued the printed suit trend in navy blue! The young actor looked sharp in this Joshua Kane suit with a pretty blue floral detail throughout. He added a white dress shirt, black tie and black dress shoes to finish off this fashionable ensemble.

“Bridgerton” star Kathryn Drysdale seriously wowed in this stunning Jenny Packham confection. The lovely lilac number featured ruffled sleeves and a delightful tiered tulle skirt that was instantly one of our very favorite looks of the night.

Colman Domingo was one of the most dapper looking gentlemen during the SAG Awards telecast, rocking this peach Greyscale suit. He paired it with a dress shirt in the same shade and added yellow boots for a spring-ready ensemble that scored an A+.

You can’t go wrong with a classic tuxedo and bowtie combo! Martins Imhangbe proved that in this sleek look, which he completed with a white dress shirt and black dress shoes.

Audrey Grace Marshall rocked this sweet floral embellished frock by REDValentino. The black gown featured sheer puffy short sleeves and a tulle midi-length skirt that showed off her pointy-toe slingbacks.

Bob Odenkirk changed things up for the SAG Awards, rocking this blue suit with a black dress shirt underneath. He opted to go without a tie and added black dress shoes to finish off this fresh look.

Joaquina Kalukango selected a similar bright blue shade to Mindy Kaling for the SAG Awards. But the actress’s gown lost us with all of those multicolored sequins along the bodice.

Another pop of blue! Griffin Matthews looked impossibly cool in a bright blue vintage Italian tuxedo jacket that he paired with black dropped pants, socks and Gucci loafers. Completing his look? Some shades from Warby Parker and a black bow tie.
