5ft 1in 10-year-old with SIZE 10.5 feet opens up about merciless teasing she faced because of them – as she earns new-found celebrity status at school after setting a children’s world record

A Michigan girl who was mercilessly teased for having big feet has now officially claimed the children’s world record.
Ruby Labuschewsky, from Jonesville, was awarded with the accolade at the age of nine thanks to her size 10.5 feet.
Mother Hanna Matheny said that she had encouraged the fourth grader to apply in a bid to boost her confidence after being the subject of taunts and teasing.
Ruby, who is just 5ft 1in, is now relishing in her new-found celebrity status.

Hanna said that the submission process for the Kids World Records had been a rigorous one.
The mother-daughter duo were asked to submit precise measurements as well as a series of photos that showcased Ruby’s feet next to a tape measure from several angles.
Hanna said that there was a four-week wait after submitting their application during which time they checked the status every day – and eventually the verdict came in.
Ruby told Insider: ‘When I found out, I was extremely excited. I was jumping up and down going a little bit crazy.’
But Hanna told Fox 47 News: ‘With her dad wearing a 13, and I wear a size 11, it was pretty much a given that she was going to have big feet. She wears my shoes.’
The youngster, who is now 10, has since become a mini celebrity in her own right.
Hanna said that she was pleased it had given her daughter the morale boost she needed.
She said: ‘It’s hard for her to show her style and her personality when she can’t get the shoes that she wants.’

But, following her award, Hanna added: ‘She’s bragged about it quite a bit. A lot of kids have said “I’ve seen you in the news.”‘
And Ruby shows no sign of slowing down.
The now 10-year-old, whose feet have grown to size 11, has already entered a submission for the biggest feet in her new age category.
Children aged between four and 16 are able to submit themselves into a variety of categories for titles with Kids World Records.
It differs from the Guinness Book of Records in solely focusing on junior entrants and ambitious youngsters can even submit their own new categories for consideration.
