Holby City: Will Jac Naylor die and is Rosie Marcel leaving ahead of finale?

Holby City’s final ever episode will air next week, but let’s turn our attention to a very tense episode airing tonight.

Elliot Hope (Paul Bradley) returned to Holby last week after Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) rang him and broke the news that Jac (Rosie Marcel) has a brain tumour and is deteriorating rapidly.

Everything rests on Jac’s operation tonight.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Will Jac Naylor die?

Right now, we can’t reveal that.

Jac’s operation will see her body temperature lowered to decrease the chance of a catastrophic stroke while she’s under the knife.

Everyone is praying the op will be enough to save Jac’s life, but with only two episodes to go, anything can happen.

Is Rosie Marcel leaving?

Given the fact Holby’s finale will air next week, Rosie Marcel is technically leaving, yes – but so is the rest of the cast and crew.

However, the actress’ last scenes may air tonight if something terrible happens before, during, or after Jac’s operation.

What time is Holby’s final episode on?

Holby City’s finale will air on March 29, 7:50pm.

Why is Holby City being cancelled?

Last June, the BBC released a statement on their reasons behind Holby’s cancellation:

‘We are incredibly proud of Holby City but it’s with great sadness that we are announcing that after 23 years, the show will end on screen in March of next year.

‘We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to make room for new opportunities and as part of the BBC’s commitment to make more programmes across the UK, we have taken the difficult decision to bring the show to a close in order to reshape the BBC’s drama slate to better reflect, represent and serve all parts of the country.’

‘It was seriously humbling that so many people were adamant that it wasn’t going to go anywhere, we were all really really touched and thankful to anyone that signed petitions or wrote letters.’
