I won a £4.5MILLION house in a raffle and was over the moon… but I'm giving it up for a heartbreaking reason | The Sun

A GRAN who scooped an incredible £4.5million house has put it up for sale less than three months later – for a heartbreaking reason.

June Smith, from Essex, was over the moon upon discovering her life-changing win after paying just £25 to enter an Omaze Million Pound raffle.

The 74-year-old won the luxury mansion of her dreams – but shocked everyone when she listed the three storey home situated in the Cornish town of Fowey.

She explained her husband of 43 years, Ron, sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack at age 74.

A six-bedroom property for the widowed grandma proved too big to maintain.

June made the heartbreaking choice to put the multi-million pound house on the market but said Ron would've absolutely loved it, calling it "a work of art".

She said previously: "I wanted to enjoy at least one family holiday here before I put it on the market.

"We all came and stayed together and absolutely love the house and Cornwall – and my six grandchildren have certainly made the most of it.

"I knew winning this house would be life changing for all my family, and that's why I've decided to sell now, as I want to use the money to help all my children and grandchildren with the next chapter in their lives."

The house has a home office, main sitting room with floor to ceiling glass, a state of the art kitchen and breakfast room and a stylish dining room downstairs.
