The youngest of the Beckham boys, Cruz, has shown off his first tattoo. Cruz might only be 16-years-of-age, but he’s already proving to be a chip off the old block.
Cruz revealed his first tattoo, a butterfly on his thigh, with his 1.8million Instagram followers, as he shared a photo from a family yacht holiday in Miami.
Getting a tattoo is not legal until the age of 18 in the UK, but it looks like Cruz got his inking in America where the legal age varies across the different States. Florida, where the family were on holiday, allows tattooing from the age of 16. Although the law in Florida states that he would have had to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, so perhaps dad David was there to supervise.
Insiders claim that Cruz is already planning his next tattoo so watch this space!
David Beckham's body art
David Beckham now has around 70 tattoos, so much of his body is now covered with designs. While some people avoid having tattoos in areas that are always visible, this has never seemed to concern David, who has tattoos on his neck and hands.
Many of David’s tattoos have personal meanings and are all of a similar style. He has all of his children’s names tattooed onto his body.
From the top down, David has two tattoos for his daughter Harper on his neck. These are the name Harper in cursive script and the words ‘pretty lady’. He also has a rose next to the worlds ‘I love you’ which wraps around the back of his neck.
There’s another rose on the front of his neck with the words ‘dadda do it’ and a black horse, which reportedly represents his wife Victoria. Also on his neck is the word ‘Buster’, his nickname for son Brooklyn. The back of his neck has a cross with wings, something son Romeo has recently copied.
On his back is a large angel in a crucified position, with the words Romeo towards the top and Cruz half way down his spine. His lower back has the name ‘Brooklyn’.
Among the tattoos on his arms is a ship, which he is said to share with his own dad. He also an eagle in flight and 1975, his year of birth.
Both David’s arms are covered in sleeves – the name that describes arms which are completely covered in tattoos. Among these designs is the name Victoria written in Sanskrit, the Latin words ‘Perfectio in Spiritu’ which means Perfection Spirit in English.
The palm of David’s right hand has a tiny drawing by daughter Harper, when he uploaded a photo of it to Instagram he added the words: “Apparently Harper is allowed to scribble on daddy.”
Victoria Beckham's tattoos
Victoria Beckham has a smaller selection of tattoos and has even had some removed in recent years as she's become less keen on body art – at least on her own body!
In fact in recent photos fans have been unable to spot any tattoos but that's certainly not always been the case.
The Beckhams renewed their wedding vows in 2006 and Victoria had the roman numerals VIII-V-MMVI tattooed on her right inner wrist, which is the date 8 May 2006.
She also had the words De Integro, meaning ‘again from the start.’ This is thought to represent the Beckham family’s move to America when David signed a deal to play for L.A. Galaxy.
Victoria also paid tribute to David on her left wrist, with his initials in script.
After celebrating her 10 year wedding anniversary in 2009, Victoria added the words ‘Together, forever, eternally’ written in Hebrew, to her left wrist. David celebrated the occasion with a tattoo of ten roses on his left arm.
Victoria’s long thin back tattoo, which was said to also be a Hebrew quote, has disappeared in recent years.
Brooklyn Beckham's tattoos
Brooklyn Beckham, 22, has more than 20 tattoos already. A number of them are tributes to his fiancé Nicola Peltz, including her eyes tattooed on the back of his neck.
Beneath the eyes are the words of a love letter that 26 year-old Nicola wrote for him: "My forever boy. Read this anytime you feel anxious. I want you to know how deeply loved you are.
"You have the kindest heart I've ever met and hope I never go a day without your love.
"I think you are so incredible. Just we can get through it all together if you breathe slow and trust. I love you beyond.
"Love always, your future wifey."
He also has the words: “My life, my love, my truth, my breath, my reason, my beauty, my precious” written on his forearm.
Romeo Beckham's body art
Middle son Romeo is also working on his tattoo collection. His first tattoo a small unknown image on his ribs, he followed this with a large eagle in flight on his calf which he revealed in January 2021 during a training session for his football team Inter Miami CF.
He recently revealed a new inking that’s strikingly similar in design to his dad’s neck tattoo of a gothic style cross with wings.
The 19-year-old also has a dove on the back of his hand along with the words ‘lead with love’ as well as what appears to be a humming bird on his outer wrist plus his forearm features two cherubs.
So now with Cruz joining the tattoo club it leaves Harper as the only non-inked Beckham. As she's still only 10-years-old, she's got a while to wait.
