Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has shown off the results of his second hair transplant.
The actor, who plays David Platt in the soap, previously said that his hair loss had left him feeling depressed and jeopardised his chances of attracting future roles, while revealing he got a transplant to “protect [his] mental health.”
Now, the 32 year old star, who recently made a rude quip which had viewers in hysterics, has shown off the results of his second transplant in a year, while admitting “losing your hair is devastating.”
Jack has a particularly aggressive form of male pattern baldness, which is why his second operation was needed so quickly after the first one.
He explained: “I have been through all sorts of traumas on-screen in Corrie but going bald away from the cameras really hit me for six.
“I have been suffering from quite rapid hair loss similar to Wayne Rooney and I knew that the only way I was going to get it sorted was with another operation.

“I really hope that this will fix the problem for good because, as an actor, it is vital that I keep hold of my hair.”
The star opted for the Crown Clinic in Manchester for the procedure, and had 3,000 hairs implanted into the front of his scalp by surgeon Dr Asim Shahmalak.
The David Platt actor was keen to get a hair transplant so that viewers wouldn’t notice a difference following his rapid hair loss.
The star, who has been in Coronation Street for a whopping 20 years, added: “I know some people will say that I am being incredibly vain having a second hair transplant so quickly after the first one.
“All I can say to that was that I needed to do it for my long-term mental well-being. I have been in Corrie for 20 years now – ever since I was 12.
“I know I have been incredibly lucky and love working with such a fantastic group of actors but the relentless schedules take their toll on your mental health, particularly when you have been through as much trauma as David Platt.”
As a result of his hair trauma, the star has also opened up on the trolling he has become victim to on social media.

“People pick over your appearance on social media every day and some of those comments really hurt,” Jack explained.
He continued: “I had always been self-conscious about my hair because I am losing it right at the front of the scalp where it is most visible.”
Discussing the procedure itself, the star, who admitted to having had a wealth of positive comments about his hair from his co-stars, said: “I had the operation in December when no one had even heard of Covid and there was no social distancing.
"Over the last nine months, it has been wonderful watching the new hair grow back. I now have a full head of hair for the first time since I was a teenager.

Dr Shahmalak’s other celebrity clients include model Calum Best, Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts and the TV doctor Christian Jessen.
And many other celebrities have openly spoken about their hair transplants, including Love Island’s Jack Fincham who had a transplant in a bid to cover up a nasty cut on his head, and Big Brother's Chanelle Hayes who agonised for years over her thinning hairline.
Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis has also had a hair transplant, and recently shared the results, six months on from getting it done.
The 27 year mum-of-one credited the hair transplant company who carried out the procedure, named British Hair Clinic, admitting she didn’t know why she “didn’t do it sooner.”
