Kate Wright and Rio Ferdinand’s house: Inside the couple’s luxury home

The Cheshire mansion that footballer Rio Ferdinand lived in with his first wife Rebecca Ellison, who tragically died of breast cancer in 2015, was every inch the glamorous abode you’d expect of the star sportsman.

It also became home to his now wife Kate Wright over two years later, and despite the tragic backdrop many more happy memories were made.

At the end of last year, Rio sold the mansion and set off for London to create a new home with Kate and his three kids Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, eight.

The kitchen was clearly the heart of the home, with 28 year old Kate often sharing photos of her cooking delicious meals inside it for the family.

The walls were painted a stylish black, with floor-to-ceiling cupboards lining the walls that were finished with a high-gloss sheen. There was a stone floor, perfect for cleaning if kids made a mess, and a white marble-topped kitchen island, with enough space for the whole clan to get involved in the cooking.

Just off from the kitchen was a dining room where the family would gather to enjoy the delicious meals, which also had black-lined walls. A large stylish light fixture hung in the middle of the room, above the black table and high stools, bringing golden light to the room at night, while natural light was provided by the large windows.

The living room had a much softer colour palate, with cream curtains and furniture, contrasted with a parquet mahogany floor. The standout feature was the huge bay windows, providing the spacious room with a light, airy feel.

The couple's bathroom, however, was a much more vibrant affair, painted in a rich teal colour with monochrome prints of famous women including Marilyn Monroe. An array of Jo Malone product could also be seen lined-up above the sink, so we can assume it would have smelt lovely too.

When the couple weren't spending time with Rio's beloved children, they were in their huge in-house gym together.

The fully-equipped work out space is no doubt part of the reason the couple have such enviable physiques because, well, if you have to go to the gym there seems no better place than this. It has floor to ceiling windows and stunning views of the Cheshire countryside, showing it's secluded and you can get sweaty without the stares of strangers.

Kate and Rio take their health and fitness very seriously, and often posted videos of them working out from the gym together. In fact, last year Rio shared a hilarious video of him dropping his fiancé as he attempter to bench press her.

The outside of the house was just as impressive as its interior, with a wide expanse of lawn, perfect for the kids to play on, and a large patio area complete outdoor furniture.

At the front of the house, large garages could be seen on the driveway, which we suspect were used to house Rio's impressive collection of expensive sports cars. Hope he has found room for them down in London!
