McDonald’s hack means fans can get a double spicy quarter pounder for £1 extra

Did you know there's a McDonald's hack for the new spicy quarter pound burger?

The little trick involves adding another beef patty to your order for just £1 extra.

Customers can order through the My McDonald's app or for home delivery via Just Eat or Uber Eats.

To do this, select the spicy quarter burger, then scroll down and look at the option for customisations.

From here you can add on an extra patty for £1 and even some bacon for 40p.

But fans will only be able to add one extra patty per order, which means a triple spicy quarter pounder is out of the equation.

Then once you've added your extras, simply "add to basket" and pay for your order as per usual.

The spicy quarter pounder comes with a beef patty, two slices of pepper jack cheese, onions, jalapeños, mustard and spicy ketchup.

It usually costs £4.49 but with this savvy hack it'll be £5.49 for a double. Result…

The new burger was announced as part of McDonald's new menu on Wednesday (October 7).

These new additions are available for six weeks until November 17.

It was just last week when the fast food giant announced it will be adding five new items to its menu.

Sandwich lovers can enjoy the McChicken BLT, as well as nacho cheese wedges on the new menu.

Also on the new menu, McDonald's has added a new quarter pounder deluxe.

It includes a beef patty topped with streaky bacon, cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, mayo, ketchup and mustard.

The fully-loaded burger will only cost £4.89 – which is an absolute bargain.

And finally, the restaurant added a salted caramel latte to the menu.

The sweet-but-salty beverage will cost just £1.69.
