My parents broke up and I moved with my mum miles away from where I grew up – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY mum and dad have split up and me and Mum have moved miles from the place where I grew up.

That was hard but the hardest part is that I met this really great guy just a few weeks before we moved.

We went on a couple of dates and he told me that we’d keep in touch when I moved, but he barely replies when I message him now.

I’m a girl aged 15 and I can’t stop thinking about him. It’s making me sad.

My mum says that I should forget him as we are nearly 100 miles apart and he’s only 16 and can’t drive.

I know that makes sense but I can’t.

DEIDRE SAYS: It was hard leaving a boy you’d only just met but he seems to be accepting it means you can’t take this any further.

Your mother is probably right and you need to be working on making new friends where you are.

Take the fact that you met someone nice – and that he liked you back – as a positive sign that there are good things to come.
