A self-confessed ‘neat freak’ and mother from New South Wales has revealed the detailed household chore schedule she uses to keep her home spick and span – and it’s not for the faint of heart.

Dance teacher Kate Rowe, 29, from Mudgee, said she spends between two and three hours each day tidying up after her son, Ollie, 5, despite working four days a week.

‘I’m a totally wired neat freak,’ Kate told FEMAIL.

‘As I get older, I seem to find more and more ways to take my organisation to the next level, which I find hugely satisfying.’

But Kate clearly isn’t alone, as her household posts have earned her a cool 45,000 followers on Instagram.

Kate said she came up with her household schedule several months ago in order to keep a track of her busy household.

‘I was finding it hard to keep track of when things were last done when I was so busy being a mum and with work,’ she said.

‘So I decided to put together a schedule so I could tick off things as they were done.’

Typical tasks to do on the list include vacuuming and mopping, cleaning the patio and washing the sheets.

‘My top tip for other mums who want some semblance of normality at home is to maintain as much as possible,’ she said.

‘If you are on top of everything, then nothing is a huge task. Some of my chores on the list take no time at all.’

Kate said she also swears by the robot vacuum for getting chores done quickly, which she said has ‘changed my life’.

While it may look impossible, Kate said she and her family of three do in fact live much as you can see from the pictures (pictured: her kitchen)

While it may look impossible, Kate said she and her family of three do in fact live much as you can see from the pictures.

‘I like to make sure that everything has a space,’ she said.

‘Good storage solutions are a great investment – but make sure they are maintainable.’

Kate said she will often end each day by doing a ‘quick toy pick up and wipe down of the kitchen before bed’, so that she is able to wake up to a clean and fresh house in the morning.

‘You have to be willing to maintain your systems once they are in place,’ she said – when speaking about her tips for others.

‘It’s totally fine to keep changing these things around until you find something that works for your family.’

Kate has three organisational items that she loves – IKEA drawers, Kmart Lazy Susans and Kmart Food Storage Containers

When it come to the three organisational items Kate recommends to other busy families, she is certain that the IKEA drawers she uses for her son Ollie are top of the list.

What are Kate’s top three organisational purchases?

* IKEA Drawers for toys.

* Kmart Lazy Susans for the pantry and fridge.

* Kmart Food Storage containers for the fridge.

‘They are sectioned off into Duplo, lego, magnetic blocks, train tracks etc,’ she said.

‘He can just take out whatever he wants to play with and then it just gets packed away and slotted back into place.’

The teacher said she loves these drawers because they keep everything together and it’s easy to pack things away again.

‘I also love Kmart’s Lazy Susans,’ she said.

‘I use them for storing the condiments in our pantry. They’re easy to swivel around and give quick access to everything.’

Kate also said she’s added some to her fridge, too.

Finally, the 35-year-old is a fan of Kmart’s food storage containers, which, she said, ‘look good, are affordable and air-tight’.

‘They keep my pantry looking aesthetically pleasing and are stackable so everything sits together nicely,’ Kate said.
