Priyanka Chopra’s ready for daughter Malti to step (or crawl) into the spotlight.
The “Quantico” actress, 40, covers the February issue of British Vogue in a series of monochromatic looks, including the yellow vinyl LaQuan Smith coat she sports on the cover.
Inside the mag, Chopra poses in a red Ferragamo turtleneck dress while clutching 1-year-old baby Malti, clad in a matching crimson velvet frock by Kissy Kissy.
The infant is turned away from the camera in the shot, as the actress and husband Nick Jonas have kept Malti’s face private since her premature birth in January 2022.
The couple quietly welcomed their first child together via surrogate; Malti stayed in the NICU for 100 days before the new parents could bring her home safely.
Chopra opened up to the mag about how the pair feared for Malti’s survival, and also spoke about how she handles negative speculation from the public.
“I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me,” she said. “But it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter. I’m like, ‘Keep her out of it.’ I know what it felt like to hold her little hands when they were trying to find her veins. So no, she’s not going to be gossip.”
She added, “I’ve been really protective of this chapter of my life with my daughter. Because it’s not about my life only. It’s hers too.”
The February issue of British Vogue is available on newsstands and via digital download starting Jan. 24.
