Professional oven cleaner’s ‘non-toxic’ trick that leaves appliances shining

Cleaning the oven is a painful job and it can be even harder to budge grease and stains when you want to avoid using corrosive chemicals that can burn skin.

Fortunately, TikTok user Allison, runs her own cleaning business, has made a video demonstration of her simple and "non-toxic" cleaning hack for fans to follow.

In the clip, she explains that the first step is to remove any oven trays and grills.

Next, she gives the oven a thorough vacuum, noting that some clients have "so many burned bits" lurking inside their stoves that a nightmare to get rid of.

Allison then reveals her favourite cleaning product – Dawn Powerwash – and tells people not to "knock it until you've tried it".

Spraying the oven thoroughly with the product, water, and white vinegar, she closes the door and leaves it for around 20 minutes.

Allison says the spray has "melted" away the grease and proceeds to use a brush and scraper to get rid of all the "gunk".

Finally, she gives it a polish with a cloth to remove the last of the residue.

"Voila, look how gorgeous," she says.

Allison repeats the process with the grates, using Dawn Powerwash to get them gleaming.

The video has been watched more than 2.6 million times and has received hundreds of comments.

A fan wrote: "Omg! Dawn Powerwash works on ovens? I must do this now. I get so sick with the regular oven cleaners."

Someone else said: "That Dawn spray is amazing! It gets stains out of the carpet and even off fabric car seats."

"Yes, great job! Love Powerwash," commented another fan.

Giving their own tip, a fourth remarked: "After I clean mine I line the bottom with tin foil for drips and fall away pieces."

Some people boasted that their ovens came with a self-cleaning cycle and they never had to bother with scrubbing.

Disappointed Brits commented that it is hard to get hold of Dawn Powerwash in the UK, but Allison said she was "jealous" they had access to the cleaning paste Pink Stuff and recommended trying that.
