Shoppers are rushing to buy half-price toys at major supermarket – and prices start from £2 | The Sun

SHOPPERS are rushing out to buy half-price toys from a major supermarket weeks before the Easter half term.

Tesco has slashed prices on 70 of its toys, including big brands such as Barbie, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and Little Timbers.

The catch is you'll need a Clubcard, which is free to sign up to, to get access to the savings.

Prices start from £2 and range up to £45 with half of the toys selling for £10 or less.

The toys are currently on sale across 35 selected stores at the minute.

The sale will then be rolled out to all other Tesco stores that sell toys and online from April 3. The sale ends on April 30.

Of course, it's always worth shopping around for the best deals.

You can use the "shopping" tab in Google as well as websites like and which let you compare prices on products.

These are some of the toys in the Tesco sale, and whether you can get them cheaper by buying elsewhere.

Evo Plus Dirt Rider Scooter – Was: £100, Now £50, Saving: £50 (50%)

This scooter is an off-roader and designed for tricks and stunts, so ideal for any daredevils.

We had a look online to see how much other retailers are selling the scooter for but couldn't find any others selling the exact same model.

Argos is selling an Airwalk Dirt Scooter for £90 while Halfords is selling an Evo Light Speed Kids Inline Scooter for £36.

But of course, you're getting different models so can't compare them exactly.

Plum Junior Natural Wooden Sand Pit – Was: £55, Now: £27.50, Saving: £27.50 (50%)

This kids sand pit comes with a cover, ground sheet and rounded edges to stop your kids from hurting themselves.

It's 90cm wide, 90cm long and can hold up to 50kg in weight so is more suited to younger children.

But it's not recommended for children aged 17 months or younger.

We couldn't find any retailers selling the sand pit for less than Tesco.

Homebase is selling one for £40 while Plum Play's website has one on sale for £49.99.

Mario 50cm Plush – Was: £35, Now: £17.50, Saving: £17.50 (50%)

This Mario-themed toy is ideal for kids of all ages and the perfect bedroom toy.

We had a look online to see what other retailers are selling it for and couldn't find any cheaper than Tesco.

The Online Toy Store has it in stock for £23.99 while Reactive Toys has it on sale for £22.50.

Meanwhile, BargainMax has it on sale for £26.99.

Keeleco Adoptable World Toy – Was: £30, Now: £15, Saving: £15 (50%)

You can choose from a number of different animals with this toy, including a giraffe and leopard.

The teddies are made up of 100% recycled materials so you'll be doing your bit for the environment too.

Curious Minds is selling the leopard toy for £12.99, but there is a £2.95 delivery charge on top.

Meanwhile, Kids Magic Land is selling the unicorn version for £12.99, but with a £3.99 delivery fee.

What is the Tesco Clubcard?

The Tesco Clubcard is the supermarket's loyalty scheme where customers can get exclusive discounts on products and build up points to use towards later shops.

You get one point whenever you spend £1 in-store or online and scan your app or card.

You also get one point for every £2 spent on fuel.

One point is worth 1p so 150 points gets you £1.50, which is the minimum amount you need to request a voucher.

The points are worth triple if you use them at Tesco's partners, which includes Pizza Express, Dinsey+ and the RAC.

However, this will change from June 14, when the points will only be worth double.
