With spring well underway, fashion fans are on the lookout for the perfect items to add to their wardrobes to help them navigate the ever changing weather, and River Island shoppers are convinced they’ve found the perfect jacket for the season.
The high-street retailer is known for its on-trend designs, as well as offering affordable alternatives to popular designer pieces. With the new season upon us, River Island has released a whole host of colourful items in fresh, spring-ready pastel tones that are perfect for injecting a little colour into our wardrobes.
One item that shoppers can’t seem to get enough of is the Pink Boucle Check Blazer,£89 here, that fans of the brand are saying gives them “Chanel vibes”.
The jacket certainly looks similar to Chanel’s iconic boucle blazer, although the designer item will set you back anything from £5,000 upwards – considerably more than River Island’s £89 price tag.
The jacket itself is an on-trend pastel pink colour, with a subtle darker pink and white check throughout, and finished in a boucle fabric. With its collared neckline and double breast pockets on each side, it's an ideal dupe for the Chanel one without the designer price tag.
The jacket also features pearl edging along the collar and pockets, with oversized gold and pearl buttons that are definitely reminiscent of the French designer’s iconic boucle jackets.
River Island shared the jacket to itsInstagram feed, resharing a video created by influencer@fashionbyvaida, who styles the blazer with a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans for the perfect quiet luxury-inspired outfit.
Followers of the influencer were quick to pick up on the jacket’s designer influences, with one writing: “Looking so smart, I love the Chanel vibes”, whilst another said: “Perfect spring look” about the chic, colourful outfit.
The jacket is available both in store and online, in sizes 6-18, although sizes 16 and 18 are both currently sold out on the River Island website.

The double breast pocket and boucle-style fabric make this Mango cropped blazer a great alternative to River Island’s spring jacket, whilst also keeping the Chanel influences. It’s available in a whole range of colours too, including this spring-ready pastel lilac shade, as well as lime green, orange, and blue.
New Look Too Cute for Words Pink Crop Blazer, £19 here (was £42)
Although sold out in smaller sizes, this New Look blazer is reduced to just £19 in the sale and is currently available in sizes 14, 16 and 18. The cropped length and pastel pink colour make this the perfect jacket for spring.
Guess Tweed Crop Jacket, £145 here
Although a little more expensive than River Island’s version, this Guess tweed jacket is giving all the same designer vibes, with it’s oversized gold buttons, frayed edging, and breast pockets. You can even pick up the matching Tweed Skirt,£75 here , and Tweed Bustier,£70 here , to complete the luxury co ord look.
