Slow cooker hack allows you to make ‘amazingly’ gooey pizza at home

The slow cooker has experienced a boom in popularity over the last few years as avid fans discover it’s not just stews and soups you can make in them.

Popular dishes include pulled pork, corned beef hash and even whole chickens.

Their ease of use means you can throw your ingredients in the crockpot in the morning – or when you go to bed – and hours later dinner has been cooked for you.

You can even cook a Full English in a slow cooker.

Yes, really.

Well, it turns out you can also cook one of Britain’s favourite Italian dishes – pizza.

It might seem unlikely, but one Facebook user has shared her genius hack on the group Crockpot/Slow Cooker Recipes & Tips.

The group is dedicated to sharing their tasty and creative slow cooker recipes and techniques.

Sharing a snap of her indulgent-looking dinner, the poster said: “My first ever slow cooker pizza!”

Then, she went on to give her innovative recipe.

She said: “Jus-rol thin crust pizza base (in the fridge section in supermarket – UK – tomato sauce comes with it).

“I added cooked chicken, peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, mozzarella slices, chilli and grated cheese…”

She continued: “Wa in the slow cooker, on high, for about one and a half hours… can’t wait to taste it!”

Other members of the group were impressed and many shared their own recipes.

One said: “I made the pizza tonight – probably went overboard with the cheese though, but it was amazing.”

Another advised enthusiasts to place a tea towel underneath the slow cooker lid to prevent it from becoming soggy.

Yum, now that sounds like a tasty evening meal.
