The world might be currently in its Barbiecore era, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about the mermaidcore trend, which swept us all away with the release ofDisney’sThe Little Mermaid earlier this year.
Someone else who clearly isn’t quite ready to let go of all things underwater isStacey Solomon, as she revealed her adorable new holiday manicure.
As the TV presenter prepares for a trip abroad with her family, she shared her fresh new nail designs with her 5.7millionInstagram followers, and we’re absolutely obsessed with her pretty set.
Opting for neutral colours, Stacey showed off her nude and white mani, which featured several different under the sea-inspired designs. For her thumb, index finger and little finger, Stacey opted for an all-over beige-toned shade, with gold flecks on her index finger and subtle pearly gems on her pinky.
On her middle fingers were white starfishes, with tiny raised bumps along the legs that caught the light, painted onto a nude base, whilst her ring fingernails bore an all-over pearly white colour with a 3D shell design in a chrome mother of pearl finish.
Stacey was absolutely smitten with her new nail designs, as she captioned the video: “Summer Holiday Nails! Omg I finally finished work for the next 10 days and am so excited to spend precious time with my babies. I walked into the nail shop and turned into my 8 year old self again and went full under the sea theme, does anyone else do this and just go wild when it’s time for a work break? But I genuinely haven’t loved my nails in so long, they’ve been knocking down chimneys and building walls for the last 3 months now so I’m over the moon.”
Stacey’s pretty manicure is giving us some major holiday envy, with the pink and pearly neutrals not only being vacation-ready, but also being neutral enough to wear long after she comes back from her travels.
Her followers were also big fans of her new designs, with one writing: “So pretty!! Glad your nails (and you!) are getting the break you deserve! Have an amazing holiday,” whilst another said: “Wow they’re so pretty! Have an amazing time.”
A third commented: “Have a wonderful holiday Your nails are giving little mermaids vibes.”
Others tagged their friends and nail technicians in the comments section, asking for their own version of Stacey’s pretty under the sea nails.
If you’re keen to try them at home, you can use a nude shade like essie’s Sand Tropez, £7.19 here (was £8.99), to create your neutral base colour, before adding your designs using essie’s Pearly White Shimmer Nail Polish, £8.99 here, with a fine bristled brush.
You can also add your own pearl details using nail glue and some nail embellishments like the FEPITO 11070 Piece Flat Back Pearl Set, £8.29 here, for a delicate 3D effect.
If you don’t have the patience for a fiddly DIY manicure, you could always opt for some press on nails in a similar design, like the Pearl Nude Stiletto Press On Vegan Faux Nail Set, £5 here (was £10) , to get an easier version of the look. Plus, false nails are easier to hand paint designs on, as you can move them around more easily.
Thanks for the nail inspo Stace!
