10 Escape From Planet Earth (2013) – $74 Million
Escape From Planet Earth is a 2013 animated comedy-adventure film about an alien named Gary who becomes stranded on Earth. Gary manages to escape and return home after surviving the horrors of Planet Earth with the aid of his extraterrestrial companions and a few human science fiction fans. Scorch Supernova, Gary’s younger brother who bears little resemblance to his sibling, is voiced by Fraser. The film’s modest success did little to advance the careers of its actors, including Fraser, who had begun to fade from the public eye in recent years.
9 Bedazzled (2000) – $90 Million
Bedazzled, helmed by famed director Harold Ramis, is a remake of the 1967 British film in which a guy longing for love is offered the chance to get the lady in exchange for his soul to the devil, portrayed by Elizabeth Hurley. Fraser was only moderately successful in Bedazzled, in which he portrayed the protagonist Elliot Richards and a number of ancillary characters. Although the picture contributed to Fraser’s worldwide recognition, it did not achieve the same level of success as some of his earlier films.
8 Crash (2004) – $101 Million
Based on actual events, the 2004 crime film Crash depicts the criminal scene of Los Angeles, California, as specific police detectives investigate carjackings, robberies, and murders that they suspect have racial overtones. Fraser portrays District Attorney Rick Cabot, the film’s protagonist’s husband. With a minuscule budget, Crash had a tremendous profit margin, earning back its budget more than ten times over. Teaming Fraser up with top big-name stars like Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, and Matt Damon, Crash surely catapulted the actor closer to A-list recognition in Hollywood.

7 The Nut Job (2014) – $122 Million
The Nut Job is an animated heist comedy starring Will Arnett as the lead character in which a group of rats and other hairy animals try to steal food from a group of human mobsters. The film also features talented actors such as Liam Neeson, Gabriel Iglesias, and Katherine Heigl, with Brendan Fraser voicing the squirrel Grayson, who is regarded as a hero by the other park animals. While the animated comedy was not his highest-grossing film, it was enough to keep Fraser in the public’s mind, with numerous subsequent performances laying the groundwork for his imminent comeback.
6 George Of The Jungle (1997) – $174 Million
Based on the iconic cartoon series, George of the Jungle is a live-action Tarzan parody featuring Brendan Fraser as the title character, who was raised in the African jungle and must now adjust to life in California. Journey to the Center of the Earth is the most recent film adaptation of Jules Verne’s novel of the same name, starring Brendan Fraser as Professor Trevor Anderson, who, along with his nephew and fellow explorer Hannah, travels to the center of the Earth. Though this loose rendition of the famous story earned mixed reviews from critics, audiences made the picture a box office success.
4 G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra (2009) – $302 Million
This is the first of multiple live-action films based on the toy line and the following animation series. Fraser had an uncredited cameo in the film as the iconic Sergeant Stone, a figure frequently featured in the animated series. Though financially lucrative, the G.I. Joe brand would wane out in the coming years, with many of its stars, Fraser included, moving on to greater and better things. Yet, the franchise recently tried a revival with 2021’s Snake Eyes, only to encounter catastrophic failure at the box office.
