On March 25, Clarence House released a statement revealing thatCharles had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus,”the statement read, as reported by CNN.“He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health andhas been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.”

Clarence House also went on to share that his wife, Camilla,Duchess of Cornwall, was tested as well, saying: “The Duchess of Cornwall hasalso been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with government andmedical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home inScotland… It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virusowing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public roleduring recent weeks.”

Clarence House’s statement only revealed Charles had “mild symptoms,” so the public did not know much about the exact COVID-19 symptoms the prince experienced.

However, recently, Charles decided to share some informationabout what COVID-19 was like for him. On a visit to Gloucestershire RoyalHospital with his wife, Charles was heard elaborating on his symptoms.

“The Prince of Wales also spoke to staff about losing his sense of taste and smell when he had #coronavirus and said he is still feeling the effects of the virus now. Many weeks later,” tweeted Chris Ship, a royal reporter who was at the event.

Following his diagnosis, Charles was put into self-isolationaway from everyone, including Camilla. Although Charles and Camilla could notsee each other for several days, they were reportedly both quarantining at BirkhallHouse in Scotland.

Since Charles only presented mild symptoms, he was not severelyill and could still enjoy different activities around the house. In an essayfor CountryLife, Charles shared that, like many folks, he had been making use oftechnology in self-isolation.

“We have seen the very best use of technology — allowing usto keep working, but also to keep in touch through virtual parties, games,singing — and some of the funniest videos I have seen for a long time!” Charleswrote.

His son, Prince William, also revealed in an interview withthe BBCthat their family had been keeping in touch with one another despite beingphysically far apart.

In any case, Charles and Camilla recently moved back to London. Even though lockdown measures are in still place in the U.K., this move is seen as a sign the couple will resume more royal duties soon.
