Mother-of-seven Jaimie Harris, 41, from Sudbury, Suffolk, decided to keep her latest pregnancy a secret fearing she would stress out her father Michael, who suffers with ill health

However, when Jaimie delivered her twins, Betty and Bertie, safely, she decided the time was right to let her dad know he was a grandfather again – and the video of their call has since gone viral on TikTok

Introducing Bertie! Jaimie first of all brought her son to the screen…before hitting him with a second surprise, in the shape of little Betty

The tears flowed when Michael realised he had two new granchildren. Jaimie said not seeing her father during lockdown had helped her to keep the secret in tact

Michael has since met his new two new grandchildren; Jaimie said she was delighted to spread a little happiness during the pandemic

School cook Jaimie and her partner Craig now have five children together, including Henry and Teddy Hemson, eight and seven.

Jaimie also has two children from a previous marriage – Mia and Harry Warburton, 19 and 16.

The resulting video, taken on January 15th and uploaded onto TikTok, captures the emotional moment she showed her father her new bundles of joy, with with the grandad removing his glasses to wipe away tears after finding out.

The mum built up the suspense by first telling Michael that she’d given birth to a boy and showed him Bertie first.

They came quickly! Jaimie says that after giving birth to her son Reggie in January 2020 she was gobsmacked to fall pregnant again so quickly with twins

However, when she panned the camera over to Betty, Michael realised they were twins, and the happy grandad is seen bursting into tears.

The twins make Jaimie a mum-of-seven, having only given birth to baby Reggie just one year before.

She explains: ‘I had Reggie in January 2020 so we didn’t know we were pregnant as I was still feeding him.

‘I then found out it was twins but due to my dad’s ill health decided not to tell him as didn’t want to stress him out, so if dad didn’t know – no one would.’

Joy: The mother-of-seven said her father wasn’t great at keeping secrets and if she told him ‘everyone would know’

HOW EASY IS IT TO FALL PREGNANT AFTER GIVING BIRTH?

According to the NHS, Women are surprisingly fertile following a pregnancy and can fall pregnant again as little as three weeks after giving birth – even if a woman is breastfeeding and periods haven’t re-started again.

Jaimie describes finding out she was pregnant with twins as a ‘major shock’, saying: ‘Reggie was only seven months old and all my children have been c-sections so was very worried too.’

The pandemic may influenced the way she chose to reveal her happy news too, saying she wanted to give people something to smile about.

Jaimie explains: ‘There’s so much rubbish going on with Covid we wanted to share a little happiness with friends and family for a change.

‘I’m so happy with the way we did our reveal and the comments have been amazing – so glad we did it this way.’

‘All the family has met the twins and all get on great,’ said Jaimie, who gave birth to them on January 11 at Colchester Hospital.’
