Tipping Point fans were left frustrated after one player's hair blunder took their focus off the game at hand.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed four new hopefuls onto the show and the opponents quickly got to work answering his general knowledge quiz.

However, when one contestant introduced herself, fans couldn't help but notice that her fringe was falling into her eye, and took to Twitter to comment – with plenty offering to fix the problem for her so she could better concentrate on the game.

One wrote: "I want to move Melinda's fringe out of her eye."

Another tweeted out: "Can someone get Melinda a clip for her hair?"

A complimentary viewer added on: "Well I think Melinda's hair looks lovely! Wish I had curls like that."

Melinda told the camera that she was a carer and looked excited to be on the show.

She wore a blue top, a flattering green shirt with a chain motif and had styled her blonde hair in a curly updo.

Her icy blonde hair framed her face in ringlets as her fringe swooped over her eye, the rest of her hair pulled up into a ponytail.

Melinda trailed throughout the quiz and eventually made it to her final question, where Ben told her that she "had to answer" her two questions correctly or she "wouldn't make it through".

Unfortunately, with a prize pot of just £150, Melinda was eliminated from the show and had to watch her opponent release his four tokens.

Tipping Point host Ben Shephard also presents Good Morning Britain, ITV's early morning news programme.
