Former A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin has headed off on a road trip with his family – but things have started smoothly.
Since his terminal cancer diagnosis three years ago, the 49-year-old has been making as many memories as he can.
Jonnie shares Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac with his wife Jessica Holmes – who has been by his side the entire time.

And with the summer holidays in full swing, Jonnie wasted no time in rounding up his family to head in the car for trip away.
But with three youngsters in the back, it seems it has been a peaceful journey so far for Jonnie – who had a tumour in his lung spread to his brain – and Jess.
Taking to his Instagram on Saturday (August 12) Jonnie shared a selfie of him with his wife behind the wheel and his boys sat in the backseat.
“5 hours on and off in car with the boys. Each one with a tablet/screen without headphones! Acoustic hell! Road trip,” Jonnie penned in the caption.
The TV star's fans were quick to share their sympathy in the comments section, with one parent joking: “I can see the pained look in both your faces.”
Someone else chimed in and said: “Can literally taste the pain in this photo.”
Jonnie was given just six months to live in 2020 when he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
The cancer then spread to his brain, and almost two and a half years later he publicly shared his diagnosis in December.
