NBA YoungBoy’s ‘Al YoungBoy 2’ Becomes His First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200

The new effort also marks the Baton Rouge rapper his second top ten album on the chart, following his ‘Until Death Call My Name’ album that peaked at No. 7 in 2017.

AceShowbiz -NBA YoungBoy a.k.a. YoungBoy Never Broke Again leads this week’s list of Billboard 200. His latest studio album, “Al YoungBoy 2”, debuts at the top spot of the chart, earning the rapper his first No. 1 album with 110,000 equivalent album units in the week ending October 17, according to Nielsen Music. The number includes 3,000 in traditional album sales.

Ushered by lead single “Self Control”, the new effort additionally marks his second top ten album. The Baton Rouge native first made it to the top 10 of the chart back in May 2018, when his album “Until Death Call My Name” peaked at No. 7. Meanwhile, the prequel of “Al YoungBoy 2”, debuted and peaked at No. 24 in 2017.

Trailing behind “Al YoungBoy 2” is Post Malone‘s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” that moves up one spot to No. 2 with 99,000 units. Summer Walker‘s “Over It”, which debuted at second place last week, has to give up its spot and slips to No. 3 with 78,000 in its second week. Meanwhile, DaBaby‘s “Kirk” holds its No. 4 position with 55,000 units.

At No. 5 is another newcomer, Lil Tjay‘s “True 2 Myself”. Featuring hit “F.N.”, the 17-track album racked up 45,000 equivalent album units. Taylor Swift‘s “Lover” follows the 18-year-old rapper’s new album at No. 6 with 44,000 units, while Wale‘s “Wow… That’s Crazy” debuts at No. 7 with 38,000 equivalent album units. This marks his fourth top ten effort, following “The Album About Nothing”, “The Gifted” and “Ambition”.

Three former No. 1 albums occupy the rest of the top ten spots on this week’s chart. First off is Billie Eilish‘s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” which plunges to No. 8 with 34,000 units. Chris Brown‘s “Indigo” has to jump down to No. 9 with 33,000 units, followed by Young Thug‘s “So Much Fun” that stays steady at No. 10 with nearly 33,000 units.
