Netflix has announced a TV series adaptation of Hrishikesh Hirway’s popular podcast, Song Exploder.

Following the format of Hirway’s original podcast, the adaptation will feature one musical guest each episode and take a deep dive into the creation of some of their greatest songs. The inaugural season will see Ty Dolla $ign discuss “LA,” Alicia Keys touch on “3 Hour Drive” with Sampha, Lin-Manual Miranda on “Wait For It” from Hamilton: An American Musical and returning guests R.E.M. on “Losing My Religion.”

Hirway launched Song Exploder in 2014 and hosted it until January 2019, then returned in December 2019. The podcast series has sat down with everyone from legends like Ghostface Killah, Iggy Pop, Fleetwood Mac and Björk to Denzel Curry, Meek Mill, FKA twigs and Tame Impala.
