The three hip-hop megastars entertained the sold-out crowd at the Budweiser Stage for the much-anticipated Young Money reunion show in Toronto on Saturday night, August 6.
AceShowbiz –Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne treated fans to a fun-filled performance at the much-anticipated Young Money reunion show in Toronto. During the Saturday night, August 6 gig, which was part of Drake’s OVO fest, the megastars entertained the sold-out crowd at the Budweiser Stage.
It marked the first time in seven years for the rappers to reunite. The event was initially set to take place August 1. However, just hours before the concert’s kickoff, the show was rescheduled after Drake tested positive for COVID-19.
Nicki even poked fun at the matter during the gig. In one video taken from the night, the “Bang Bang” femcee could be seen asking the “In My Feelings” rapper, “Do you still have COVID?” In response, the Canadian star was making gestures that he was already COVID-free.
Fans were amused by the question as one wrote in an Instagram comment, “Lmaoooo my girl don’t play about her health.” Another person wrote, “Yes ma’am,ask him. cause you are going back to papa bear.” Echoing the sentiment, someone else added, “Nicki is an amazing mom. Period! She don’t want you cooties or germs!!! Gone Aubrey.”
Another notable moment during the show was when Drake gushed over Nicki and Lil Wayne. “It’s been a long time since we been here and been able to do this together,” Drake explained to the audience. “First and foremost, I just wanna say tonight I got to stand in the crowd and watch two of the greatest musicians of all f**king time. I’m so grateful to be a part of that team.”
The “Honestly, Nevermind” artist then praised Lil Wayne for his role in his career. In a touching tribute, he called the “Lollipop” rapper “the most selfless man on planet earth.” He added, “I’m your son, look at this s**t. You did this. You did this s**t.”
Drake also gave Nicki her flowers during the reunion show. “This is the greatest city in the world,” he explained. “I’m standing on stage with the greatest rapper of all time and I’m standing on stage with the other greatest rapper of all time. She’s over there with the pink hair. By the way, like, are these b***h serious? Like, nobody can f**k with Nicki… [She’s] like the originator-it starts here, ends here, all that s**t.”
