Dancing On Ice star Ben Foden has given his take on rugby player pal Thom Evans relationship with his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
The sportsman opened up on the possibility of an engagement being on the cards for his chum as he and wife Jackie Belanoff-Smith chatted to OK! Magazine last week.
Ben, 36, was questioned on if he was still close with Thom after they appeared together in band Try Star boys on Celebrity X Factor back in 2019 – which is where Thom met Nicole.
The rugby star admitted he had recently been on a night out with the star player and had got advice from his brother Max on his Dancing On Ice appearance.
He said: "I am in touch with them. Max Evans, Thom’s brother, did Dancing on Ice so I’ve spoken to him about it. I saw Thom just before we flew over to do this, during Halloween, I saw him and Nicole and two of their friends.
"We had a few nights out. Me and Thom have been in and out of each other’s lives since we were 18, so it’s always fun catching up with him and making sure when the stag do is happening I can get an invite!"
Asked if he thought Thom and Nicole might be ready to take the next step in their relationship and get engaged Ben continued: "They seemed very happy when I saw them.
"I don’t think they are putting a time limit on it, they’re just getting to know each other. They’re very new to it. If they are going to take any advice for Jackie and I, it would be to go for it!"
Ben had a whirlwind romance himself when he wed Jackie back in 2019 after just two weeks of dating and on the day his divorce from The Saturday's singer Una Healy was finalised.
Ben and Jackie share a nineteen-month-old daughter, Farrah.
Thom, 36, and Nicole, 43, confirmed they were dating in January 2020 and are regularly seen looking tanned, gorgeous and deeply in love as they enjoy a series of lavish trips abroad on Instagram.
