Stormzy postpones Asia tour dates amid coronavirus fears: ‘I promise I’ll be back’

Stormzy shared the news he was rescheduling his Asia tour dates on Instagram this morning. “I was seriously looking forward to bringing the #HITH World tour to Asia and playing some epic sold out shows,” the rapper told his 3 million followers. “But due to the ongoing health and travel concerns surrounding the coronavirus, I’m regrettably having to reschedule this leg of the Tour.”

Three out of five of Stormzy’s concerts in Asia were sold out but the grime artist has vowed to reschedule them for another time.

“Information regarding the rescheduled dates will follow in due course,” he said.

“Please contact your local ticket vendor for any further queries. I promise I’ll be back.”

Stormzy was due to play in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China and Korea next month.

He is currently in the midst of the European leg of his Heavy Is The Head Tour, with his next show scheduled for Berlin, Germany, on February 20.

The Own It hitmaker is set to bring the tour to the UK in September.

As of this morning, there have been over 60,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in China,

Over 1,300 people have died of the virus.

The total number of cases of coronavirus in the UK is up to nine.

The Covid-19 (the official name for the new coronavirus disease) outbreak originated in China and cases have now been confirmed in nearly 30 countries around the world.

Most of the deaths and infections have been in China, but one person in Japan and one in the Philippines have died.
