What is the plot of 21 Bridges?

As is often the case with action movies, the less you know about the plot, the better, as surprises can often be lurking around every corner.

However, the overall premise, as released by STX Entertainment, reads: “An embattled NYPD detective is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy.

“As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him.

“When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all 21 bridges to prevent any entry or exit from the iconic island.”

With the film originally called 17 Bridges, it must be the case that more bridges needed to be closed to truly keep the bad guys from escaping.

Is there a trailer for the film?

There is a trailer, which begins with a hardened New York cop (Sienna Miller) calling on Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman) to help them catch a cop killer.

A young Andre is then seen at his father’s funeral, as he is reminded to follow his conscience in the pursuit of justice.

Suddenly, Davis heads to the scene of the crime were he hears about eight police officers hurt in the line of duty, as two are seen lying dead on the floor.

His captain (JK Simmons) explains how he brought Davis to the scene for a reason, and soon a city-wide man hunt begins in order to capture the killers within four hours.
