WENDY Posner and her partner Bob Hope have been going from strength to strength.
But the nurse makes a shocking discovery in Emmerdale, the lovers quarrel and she's convinced he's being unfaithful.
Nothing seemed to be able to tear the couple apart, not even Wendy's abusive former husband Russ who rocked up the eponymous village in 2021.
Sadly, life in the Dales is never as peaceful as residents would perhaps like it to be.
In scenes due to air next week on ITV, Wendy (played by Susan Cookson) overhears a conversation between Bob (Tony Audenshaw) and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles).
Unbeknownst to the pair, their secret exchange has devastating consequences as Wendy is convinced they have slept together.

Utterly devastated, she lets rage overwhelm her and Bob is horrified when he knocks on her door and she accuses him of having an affair with Bernice.
Feeling betrayed and heartbroken, she dumps ice cold water all over him from an upstairs window.
Bernice is later bemused when a soaking wet Bob arrives at The Grange, which they have been working hard on to revamp and re-open.
But is everything really as it seems between Bernice and Bob?

The former is outraged when she hears her business partner was accused of having an affair with her.
However, Bernice also shows understanding, believing Wendy to be going through the menopause.
She hatches a plan to intervene while a worried looking Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) turns up to speak to her father Bob.

While that remains to be seen, it's needless to say that Bernice and Bob have not been romantically involved with one another.
In fact, after canoodling with Liam Cavanagh again, Bernice finds herself a new love interest ahead of the B&B's grand reopening.
Bob is deflated when she announces a harpist (whom she clearly fancies) will be their entertainment for their big day, as he wanted to showcase his DJ skills once again.
Unfortunately for Bernice, everything goes wrong and a macabre discovery threatens The Grange's redo.
Emmerdale airs weeknights from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
