Bars and Melody confirmed for BGT: The Champions this week – but what have they done since they were last on the show?

BARS and Melody are competing in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions THIS WEEKEND five years after appearing on the show.

The twosome will go up against magician Ben Hart and Collabro in week five. Here is what you need to know about them.

Who are Bars and Melody?

Leondre Devries, 18, and Charlie Lenehan, 20, formed in 2014 but grew in popularity when they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014.

The song ‘Hopeful’, which they performed on the show went on to be the band’s first chart success, peaking at number four in the UK single chart.

Since the release of the track Bars and Melody have produced two albums titled ‘143’ and ‘Generation Z’, which has achieved platinum status in Poland and was Top 5 in Poland, the UK and Japan.

The band will tour the UK this year, stopping in cities including London, Manchester and Newcastle.

What have they done since Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions?

Since starring in series eight of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions the duo have gone on to travel the world with their act.

They have made appearances in the United States of America, Japan, mainland Europe and Australia, as well as the UK.

Despite not winning BGT the boys signed a £500,000 record deal with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, which released ‘Hopeful’ in July 2014.

When are they due to be on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions?

Bars and Melody will compete in week five of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions and face tough competition from the likes of Twist and Pulse and Ben Hart.

Other contestants on the night include comedians Vicki Barbolak and Daliso Chaponda, as well as classical music band Collabro.

Week five is the last week of heats and only two acts from the show can process to the grand finale.

Already through to the final is American comic Preacher Lawson and father and son act Stavros Flatley.

When is Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions next on and when is the final?

Week five of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions airs Saturday, September 28, 2019, on ITV from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm.

Previous episodes are available to watch on the ITV hub and catch up channels but sometimes only for a limited number of days.

The final is expected to air on Saturday, October 5, 2019, however, no exact date has been announced yet.

Earlier in the year the Britain's Got Talent: The Champions final was filmed at Wembley Stadium, as each episode is pre-recorded.

Contestants competing in week five will be judged by Simon, Amanda Holden, David Walliams, and Alesha Dixon.
