Beat The Chasers fans in hysterics as Issa Schultz pokes fun at host Bradley Walsh

Beat The Chasers fans were left in hysterics on Tuesday's episode as newbie Issa Schultz poked fun at host Bradley Walsh.

Australian The Chase star Issa, 38, has replaced Anne Hegerty on the ITV show as she tested positive for Covid during the time of filming.

At the start of Tuesday's episode, Bradley, 61, said to Issa: "Are you enjoying the experience being here in Britain?"

To which the Australian star quipped: "I'm having the time of my life, Bradley, I am honoured to work with yourself. I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd work with Ant and Dec's dad… how exciting, so exciting!"

Viewers were left in hysterics over the moment as one fan tweeted: "I actually love Issa already #BeatTheChasers."

Another person put: "I actually love Issa already #BeatTheChasers."

While a different viewer added: "Issa is settling in really well with the other Chasers #BeatTheChasers."

It comes as The Chase star Anne Hegerty explained her absence on season five of ITV's Beat The Chasers.

"The Governess", 63, will be replaced by Australian The Chase star Issa on the popular gameshow this week and he will join Jenny Ryan, Mark Labbett, Paul Sinha and Shaun Wallace.

Discussing her absence on the show, Anne exclusively told OK! at the Pride of Manchester Awards: "Beat The Chasers is on, 9pm every night and that's the series I wasn't on because I got Covid. So that's the series that's got one of our Australian Chasers on it."

Talking about her replacement, Issa, Anne added: "I think he's going to be brilliant, I think you are all going to love him. He's a smashing bloke!"

Eight-time winner of the Australian Quizzing Championships Issa, who has appeared as menacing chaser on "Down Under's" version of the show since it first commenced in 2015, has never before starred on the UK series.

Though he may be a newbie, it is understood that the quiz guru will be tough competition for the brave contestants, as he's also competed on The Rich List as well as Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?
